most of the messaging related apps and the apps this some typing is required can turn to landscape mode but nt the home screens and yes E7 & N97 can turn to landscape but both are based on Symbian n this phone is based on MeeGo Harmattan

Look at N9's UI how beautiful it is and see how much news it has generated in last one week which N8 was not able to generate. N8 only got criticized for its Symbian3 UI
